Creating Complexity

What is complexity? Is it the collection of many simple objects, some one object that can perform many simple tasks, or a useless object that is too overloaded with functions for its users to learn to use it? Sandy recently remarked that we have never really created any complex code. Thinking about it, he is right. The reason why my site does not have a programming section is probably that I don't want to put up the programs that seem simple, or don't have many applications.

How complex is it to create complexity? Is complexity really needed to write good code? I think a simple program that does a small job is sufficient. But then sometimes even seeming simple tasks need you to take care of so many cases that the job complicates. Probably complexity comes if you keep improving your code over time. I have not really done that. I have written programs and left them at that. I have never really kept adding features and options to improve my programs. Probably that is what I must do. Revise my old programs, find some good ones and make them better.
